The Junior Red Angus Association of America recently enrolled its 1,000th member and continues to attract young people who desire to be part of the Red Angus breed. The JRA strives to equip and prepare all members to be leaders, innovators, stewards and advocates for the Red Angus breed, the beef industry and agriculture.

There is no doubt that youth involvement is an integral component of the beef industry, as the future lies with the next generation. The JRA membership actively participates in industry events, conferences and seminars designed to develop members’ critical thinking, leadership and livestock production skill sets. Additionally, the JRA strives to nurture enthusiasm for the beef industry and agriculture, while promoting networking and education.

Moving forward, the ever-growing JRA membership is looking forward to events at the National Western Stock Show, Cattle Industry Convention and NCBA Trade Show, the Fort Worth Stock Show, which hosts the 2019 National Red Angus show, the Young Stockman Program and the JRA Round-Up. All of these events allow JRA members to interact with other beef industry stakeholders and experience various segments of the industry.
