The Montana Beef Council has teamed up with Billings-based franchise, Wentana, again to answer the age old question: Where’s the Beef?
“It helps sell more burgers and get more beef on more plates and make people smile a lot more about a great beef eating experience” said Chaley Harney, executive director of the Montana Beef Council.
For the 5th consecutive year, the Montana Beef Council has teamed up with Wendy’s to help promote Montana’s beef cattle industry.
“Every year we sell more and more beef. As Wendy’s has talked about and as you can clearly see from their menu, beef is their number one seller,” said Harney. “Whether it’s thru their burgers and their Dave singles or even in their delicious chili it’s a great item on their menu.”
Wendy’s agrees. Jonna Jones, director of marketing for Wentana, says it’s a natural fit.
“We have found this to be a great opportunity for us to spread our message of using fresh never frozen beef,” Jones said. “And what better partner to have than the Montana Beef Council where all they talk about is beef.”
More importantly, it’s about having a relationship with Montana cattle ranchers.
“So it just makes sense for us since hamburger is one of our number one selling items in our restaurants,” said Jones. “It makes sense for us to partner with beef producers and the beef council and gives us the opportunity to tell them thank you for all of the work they do to help supply beef across this state and the country.”
For beef checkoff investors, it’s an example of what the Montana Beef Council Board decides to invest in with the 50 cents of every $1 per head collected that stays in Montana.
“Our board takes a very close look at all the partners that they could invest in and where we can invest those checkoff dollars,” said Harney. “But right here in Montana and our largest market here in Billings we’re able to invest in a really strong promotional partner and have an exciting offering for Montana’s beef producers and a marketing promotion to really take it to the next level and sell more beef.”
