Compared to last old crop alfalfa, grass hay, and dehy pellets and ground and delivered hay sold steady. Limited sales on big square bales of new crop alfalfa with not enough sales to establish where the 2018 season may head in price. Quite a lot of inquiry from buyers and sellers on where the new crop alfalfa, especially round bales, may start out at on price. Some acres of standing alfalfa have been price at 70.00 for first cutting hay. Some dehy operators have been busy making pellets. Good rain across most of the state this week. Some hay was rained on others while other producers got it baled just in time. Many producers are just starting on first cutting of alfalfa in many areas across the state. All sales are dollars per ton FOB the field or hay barn, unless otherwise noted.
