Compared to last week alfalfa, grass hay ground and delivered products and dehy pellets sold steady. Demand was moderate instances good from out of state buyers. Some producers have 4th and 5th cutting on the ground and are hoping this week’s sunshine will aid in the drying down process. Some prairie grass producers continue to mow and bale hay, knowing the quality will be poor but next years quality should be a lot better without all of the old grass in the field. Some are starting to bale soybean stubble and cornstalks along with cane or millet hay. All sales are dollars per ton FOB the field or hay barn, unless otherwise noted.
