Compared to last week alfalfa and grass hay sold mostly steady to 5.00 lower. Ground and delivered forages steady and dehy pellets steady. Recent rains in the trade area has soften the baled hay market in some trading areas. After grass growth has been very good and cattlemen have more available forage for fall grazing. Also, there should be a lot of cane and millet bales this fall after the recent moisture. Some feedlots have started corn-silage production and most fields are cutting good tonnage of product. Many hay producers are on their fourth cutting of alfalfa. Some have noted it may be better than their 3rd cutting of hay. All sales are dollars per ton FOB the field or hay barn, unless otherwise noted.
